Om mit bibliotek I realize how my tastes have changed over the years, actually about every 10 years. As a teenager, I read the stuff that was required in school, most of which I enjoyed, and the stuff my mother thought I should read, plus a lot of her books, so lots of popular stuff from the 70s. In my 20s, I continued to read what they told me to in school, but I also read a lot of fantasy. In my 30s, I started filling in the classics that I hadn't been assigned in school, plus espionage and mysteries. This decade, I've tried to read more contemporary fiction (mostly from Booker, National Book Critics' Circle, and Pulitzer nominee lists) as well as new books by authors I've enjoyed in the past. Just before we moved to New Zealand, I discovered that the books stored in our garage while we were remodeling and putting a library in the house, and lost about 75% of my collection. So the books listed here are ones I've read, but may not necessarily still have.
