Hello Harry
Let's hope Will Kemp shows more restraint as a writer than he did as an actor/clown. And by the way, has anybody told you that you bear a remarkable resemblance to "Curlee" Howard?
Well, you and I seem to be the only LTers who own Ben Jonson's London! I teach Early Modern English lit, mostly drama; I see you are a hirtorian of the same period. I know what you mean about not giving away books. I always think I'll need that one for when I write that book or article! I do trade fiction on two swap sites, since I rarely reread novels unless they are special favorites or I think I might teach them someday. Hope you are enjoying Library Thing!
Hi,

Saw you liked Trainspotting, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reading my new novel and posting your comments here (as well as on a few other book-related sites). Thought you might like my novel since it's also about a group of disturbed kids and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

And I thought that MY house was stupid with books! Looking at some of the quantities that people have catalogued here bewilders me. Is it physically possible to hold down a job/career and read upwards of 3,000 books? Do the math. I've seen a couple of people admit that much of their catalogue is either unread or comprises a 'wish list'.
While I'm not finished cataloguing, I might estimate that I'll be in the 1,500 range. Don't know if I'll get to the shelves in my office, however (probably several hundred), as I try not to allow myself to be distracted. The bulk of my books I have indeed read, but there are some newer ones awaiting my dull gaze. And, of course, some gifts that I will NEVER read.
I just signed on yesterday, and have had a bit of fun doing this on some down time. I'll consider it my own version of Facebook, which I steadfastly refuse to touch (although my wife quite enjoys it).
