Om mig Music is what I do (Aside from reading, writing, and the whole literary shebang, of course).

I love Latin and the Classics, ancient civilizations, music and color (but especially when you combine the two), and anything else that comes to mind.

Random, useless information is one of my best friends, and the one way I manage to get through Social Studies with a smile.

Om mit bibliotek Books I've loved, books that bored me.

Books I read once, books I regularly devour.

And, of course, a few I have yet to read (but I'll get around to it soon, really).

...and I really like getting recommendations. :]

Nope, we give you at least 2 months leeway - and once a review is posted, it doesn't matter at all (ie, a late review completely cleans your slate).

It's just an overwhelming number of people in Early Reviewers now, I think, which decreases everyone's chances.
What's your favorite latin song?

Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom is about a man-please forgive me, I forgot his name- that writes a report about his time with an old man named Morrie that has a disease that is most fatal. Morrie teaches the man about how to enjoy life and what life can give you. I think Morrie used to be a professor at some university and wanted to spend the last months of his life informing the man about how life comes only once and make the most of it while you can. On the cover, it said-and I quote, "An old man, a young man, and life's greatest lesson". It really was a good book. I think Albom wrote another book called "For One More Day" and it is kind of like his first book. Maybe you should read it whenever you can.

Have u read the book [Tuesdays With Morrie]? It's by Mitch Albom.

Maria
Yeah, it refers to the book [Wicked Lovely] by Melissa Marr. It used to be my fave book when I was reading it and I really like the title. Where did you get your username? Did you just come up with it? It rocks!!!

Maria
Like your username. So cool.

Maria
No prob. I like your library, so...yeah. How are you?

Maria
No, i can't recall reading anything by Emma Bull, but i will be on the lookout now.
Yes, it can be hard to follow, and the first time i read it, i didn't exactly get into it right away, if you know what i mean.
But once you get past the first bits, introductions etc., then i think it's a pretty absorbing read-- i encourage you to give it another go :)

The cover of my Betwixt is white, with a pink-yellow sort of dyed looking thing in the middle, and BETWIXT written in a strange font over that. Ok, that's a really bad description on my part, so i'll see if i can upload a photo of my cover to LibraryThing.

I enjoyed Tithe immensely, but unfortunately have not been able to get my hands on the second and third books! It's quite annoying :)
Hey,

Assuming you've read Betwixt, what did the cover of the copy you read look like? Because the copy i own is not the one with the ugly yellow cover-- and i can't find a picture of my cover any where on the internet!
I thought it was pretty awesome... bit sort of strange, and did require a bit of thought, but essentially really really good! :) It's the sort of book that leaves you thinking about it for ages after you've finished it.
Can't wait for the sequel.
What about you? I have seen some pretty scathing reviews of it though, so not everyone shares my opinion...
Why (blushes) thank you for your kind words - that's made my day! :)
Um, if you liked Black Tat (and I'm delighted you did!) then may I point you in the direction of my second book, TIM, DEFENDER OF THE EARTH?? It's essentially [cough] a subtle, gentle, understated sort of tale of giant monsters smacking the bejeezus out of each other with important bits of central London. If that sounds like your cup of dinosaur then you can find out more at my new website, www.timdefenderoftheearth.com
Meanwhile, thank you so much again for your message. And yes, isn't LibraryThing wonderful?? Hee hee hee!
Very best wishes to you,
Sam
