Om mit bibliotekA personal library is such an intimate thing, isn't it? You can know more about me from seeing which books I collect than you might glean from an hour of conversation. If I'm interested in it, it's here: the children's and young adult lit that you might expect from an incipient children's librarian, as well as all of the other stuff -- random paperbacks of various classics, slightly more impressive copies of the Little, Brown & Company editions of Louisa May Alcott's works from the early 1900's, fantasy, theatre books, mysteries, Shakespeare, Eastern Orthodoxy, cookbooks, "Calvin and Hobbes". . .

"My Library" consists of books that I own, though now, with Collections, I am slowly adding books I have read in the past few years but do not own.

Hey Foggi, any good titles you'd recommend?
Thanks lovely!! I knew it was some sort of combination of those details. Will load up piccies post haste... or maybe in the next few days!!!

lots of love
xxx
I know, I know. I was still very sad to have missed you, tho. I almost wished I hadn't gone to Rhode Island that weekend just for the pleasure of finally meeting you, my dear.

We should definately go se DH together! Maybe a whole group of us could go and comandeer a whole theater? Can you imagine?? That would be a total blast!! I have to warn you tho, it can get a little anoying to watch a movie with me, just ask Bib and Mandy. I burst into tears at the end of HBP, I was so enraged. LOL
Foggi!!!!

Thanks for the love. I miss you too! I probably wont know anyone on HE anymore. I guess I'll just be the weird new girl. He he he

WAIT A MINUTE!! I forgot! I am REALLY, REALLY mad at you!! I heard this rumor---surely it can't be true---that you were in NY and didn't tell me! SURELY its not true, right? You wouldn't do that, you'd know I would want to see you, right?
Forgot to mention I just started reading The Lightning Thief - I think you were one (of many) that recommended it - and I'm really really enjoying it so far!
I finally finished it! Loved it...huge cliffhanger...you were right :(
The chatroom will stay stable all weekend. I don't want to work on the computer during the weekend. :)
We've been knocked out of chat! I think they were trying to tell me I need to get to bed! Sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodnight! I'll do it here. Goodnight foggi and Espy!
Yes...I've had some of my worst experiences on the Cross Bronx Expressway. I avoid it now as I literally get panic attacks driving on it. (Sheesh, my chest is tightening just THINKING about driving on it!)

We forgot to send you home with some of the bagels and snickerdoodles. You'll have to come back now. :oP
Hey there!

Tell me when you get home. I worry. I hope you made it out of the Bronx OK!
Foggi, I will try to stop by tonight, but I just can't stay up that late. I have been setting up new computers for our school open house Wednesday, and this is my first day off since last Saturday. I am going back in tomorrow and I don't want to stay up that late tonight. I really have missed you guys!
This is the slowest week ever!! lol
I see you finished Catching Fire?! I'm so glad you caved in. Only 1/2 a star less than Hunger Games....ahhhhh!!! I'm so anxious. I hope you enjoyed it! :) I'm almost certain it'll be our next group read. Can't wait to discuss it.
I hoped you liked it! The part from his own life is sneaking into the show. When he was in boarding school, he conned his way into the Tonys and backstage by saying he was Carol Channings's son!

Have a great time on your trip and visiting with your parents! Take lots of pictures!
Hope your trip to see your parents is splendid and that you are having an amazing time. I am also glad to see you are enjoying Maisie Dobbs. M
darn
fancy the chatroom again
Thank you for bringing the Ale-8-1! It was great of you and Espy to remember. When I worked at the summer camp where Jon and I met, staff would sometimes make an "Ale-8-1 run" and drive to KY to get it. (The camp was near Seymour, IN, near the IN/KY border.) The drink holds very fond memories for me! Now it will also remind me of hanging out with wonderful LTers. Thanks again for the Ale-8-1 and a great weekend!
Thank you foggi! I'll watch for it!
p.s. One more thing... as a youth librarian maybe you can help me out... My cousin is having a book themed baby shower and I need to find a children's book/story with a corresponding gift. (Example being Goldilocks and the Three Bears with a bowl and spoon set.) I already had the idea of crocheting her a baby blanket, but do you know of any books or stories that would tie into a blanket? I was thinking of just getting Goodnight Moon and tying it into the bedtime theme but if you have any brilliant ideas I'd love the input!
Hi foggi! Sorry I didn't make it last night. I spent the whole day walking around outside and by 9:15 I couldn't keep my eyes open. It was the first day in a long time I didn't even turn on my computer! If you didn't watch it last night, maybe would could watch Order of the Phoenix on July 18.
9:00 LT time sounds great! Thanks!
Hehe!

OK, if no one puts one up by the afternoon, I'll take care of it!
Crazy question foggi,

When exactly do we start the birthday thread for MsDonna? We've been having an argument here about when exactly June 27 starts in Australia. :o)

Cristina
Hi foggi, I think you said you wanted to stay at a hotel too for our HBP weekend. I left this note for lefty:

I can't wait to come down there in July. It is only a month away! Any suggestions for a hotel? Something near you or near a theatre or somewhere in between? Something reasonably priced would be nice, but I am willing to pay a little more for cleanliness. Air conditioning is a must, but I am sure they all have that. Thanks!

I have been cruising Orbitz a bit, but I am not sure what direction to take. I will let you know what lefty says. Let me know if you have any ideas. See you in a month!
The reason I asked is because the headoffice of my company is on top of a hill in Ada. I am planning to go there some time soon.
STOP STALKING ME!
Thank you for participating in my thread. Hope to see often.

BTW...Are you near Oda, Oklahoma?
Hi there... I saw that you picked Fatherhood from my library. I thought that you may be interested in my new thread.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I see you're working your way down, so I'll help you. ;o)
It's called "Revisiting the Fire Swamp". Below comic #357

Hope you like it!

Grandparents in Lville, how funny. LT has opened up a world for me. I have a bit of a time sleeping some nights and if I get up & play in LT I walk away with a list of books to try. (then I stumbled on LTers With Dogs). I am learning to handle Facebook and Flickr because of finding LT. I enjoy time travel books and recently someone told me I liked classics and fantasy but I just didn't know it. SO I might be stalking your library soon.
foggi, what part of KY? My home was western Ky, Benton, went to Murray State for a bit and we hung out at the lakes.
Thanks for droping a line foggi. It's so good to finally be able to share my passion of books. I've always been a reader, heck I read the back of shampoo bottles and cereal boxes. It's also know I'm not the only one out there who has an addiction to Harry. I'm going to start checking out the posts and hopefully I won't get lost in them. Have a good day.
Yea, I had a picture of my dog that died a year ago too, but I took a picture of my cat with books, so I decided to use that instead. The dog looks so sweet and reminds me of my other dog that died about 2 years ago. It is a great picture though!

Is the puppy your worst nightmare, or is it one of those that is quiet and loves you to death? lol I love puppies and kittens!

Yea, it's great to be back. I'm not really into the posting thing again, yet, but I'm working on it slowly... starting to talk to some people like Suge, how could I not!? Is she having issues with her posting or something, I saw someone mention it...

How's everyone been? It's weird to go to HogX and see all these new people and I'm just like... the clan is no longer dominant! You guys were like the ring masters of the forum!

I just found out about the Early Reviewers giveaway program and I think it's amazing! I wish someone had told me about it earlier cuz I think it is just the best program out there.

Best of love
Cue
By the way, your dog is adorable, s/he must be the sweetest!?
I'm having trouble accessing any forums, are you? I can post in them by clicking on a specific talk from my home page, but I can't access anything thats not on the list... I just wanted to make sure that it wasnt a me problem, lol
That's so cool foggi! Congratulations.
I got to the post office on my lunch break, so it's on its way.
I'm half way through, and I had to work late. So I'll definitely finish tomorrow. I'll try to send it on Friday afternoon.
foggi, my love, I hope that you are having a fabulous spring! Its an ABSOLUTELY glorious day in NY. But I am a little sad because a good friend from work got fired. Sigh.

I've been really busy at work, so I dont really have time to sneak in to LT anymore. Plus, I'm completely given up on catching up and I don't know half the people around anymore. I'm a stranger.

I am the same way with phones! Sometimes I ramble on and on but mostly I umm umm umm my way through conversations. we're a sad pair, huh?

We should totally call!! And maybe practice on each other? That way if we ever have occasion to call someone we know what to do!!

Sometime last summer I lost my phone so I don't have your phone anymore (I think) (who knows whats in Berry2...) But you might still have mine so call me!!!! MUA!

ps. I heard Espy got a job at a Library! Tell him I'm totally jelous and congrats!
Are you a Warriors fan?
Hi Foggi! I wasn't on over the weekend but wanted to wish you a (day-late) very lovely Easter!
Cheers!
el :)
Hi, foggi! I just want to say the Start Here Information thread looks stunning. You did an absolutely amazing job. Miss you and see you on threads soon, I hope!
Oh gosh, I'm so sorry I haven't been on, Foggi!
With work and all that stuff, I just haven't had time for LT (crazy how that can happen, but happen it did). I won't have a lot of time in the weeks to come either, but hopefully it'll lighten up after that.

Great to "see/hear" you all again!!! Hopefully I'll maintain a little more regular contact.

Thank you for the concern, everything's well over here!
AR
Sure you can sign me up for May 9th, it works fine with my schedule...Thanks for the work you put into the GMW thread. Have a great day!

Ron
Thanks foggi. he's really trying to keep his eyes on the future, and getting better, at least to the point of being able to do for himself and get a full nights sleep. It very hard for him. Its hard for me too, I'm worried about him being home alone when I'm at work
So I don't know what I was talking about -- the psychiatrist/Scarecrow is the villain in Batman Begins. He just has a cameo in Dark Knight. Of course, I don't know if you've seen Batman Begins either, so maybe it doesn't help. But Dr. Crane (actor is Cillian Murphy) is exactly how I picture the older Ptolemy's Gate Nathaniel.

Just had to correct my silly mistake! And I call myself a Batman fan -- can't even keep the villains straight.
No problem. It's a great movie. Hopefully you'll be able to see it soon.
If you're going to try getting tickets for the same weekend as the movie let me know and I'll try to do the same. Unless you think that'd make for a terribly full weekend? Any chance of getting a Friday or Monday off work?
It's night so I am picturing you watching your mailbox with eyes intent in the dark while you are within your house.
;)

I will not say! *zips her mouth closed*
Watch your mail box, missy. :)
Thank you, foggi! *hugs for you, also*
Don't miss the Flannery O'Conner article in this week's NYTimes Book Review:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/01/books/...
Okay, it's final. Tomorrow (Thursday) 8:30 PM LT time in chat. "See" you then!
Okay, it looks like Thursday night should work for everyone. Foggi is working until 8 that night, so should we say 8:30 in chat (LT time)?
I thought of you when I saw it. Ha ha ha
Wednesday's out because foggi is unavailable. I realize some of you don't know your schedules for next week yet, but how is Monday looking? Is there another date this week that would work for people? Thursday night? Friday night? I won't be available on Saturday.
"Hey baby...."
Okay, I've gotten replies from the entire committee now and it looks like weekday evenings are generally good for everyone. How is this Wednesday at 7:00? If that doesn't work my second suggestion would be next Monday at 7:00. Thoughts?
cool! I just added you.
right!
OOOOOH!! What can that mean!!!!1
Thank you, foggi! *hugs*

We miss you!
Hey, when you sign in you may see a thread from a kid who says they're 11, I just wanted you to know that I already told Tim.
Hi, foggi! Hopefully you've made it to bed by now with everything packed up and directions found. Have a safe trip to your fun convention! :)
Glad to be back

I honnestly didn't think I'd be so missed. *shrugs*

I'm a little worried, not sure if suge will hug me, or hang me upside down by my ankle
The only Brandon Sanderson book I've read before is Elantris, which I loved. I don't know why I didn't read more of his stuff after it. I've added Alcatraz to my TBR list though! Tomorrow I'm going to the library, so I'll see if it's in. Thanks for the info!
Hi! Just wondering what you thought of Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians. I saw that you had it in your library, but couldn't find anywhere that you had rated/reviewed it, if you had. Hope you're having a lovely day recuperating!
Thanks! I remember my grandparents having a few of these, but I don't think either had the full set. Might be worth looking at their shelves to see if they come close though... I agree the 1964 covers make for a beautiful bookshelf!
Hi Foggi,

Noticed you just rated the Best Loved Books... series and I'm wondering what titles are included. A quick Google search at the end of the work day didn't net any info, so if you have a website to share - or don't mind listing all the titles individually - I'd be appreciative!

Cheers,
grkmwk
Foggidawn, I came across a delicious old copy of "I Capture the Castle" by Dodie Smith. That is a wonderful quote, as are the others. I just came upstairs from a conversation with my 21 yr old about marriage and the long-term effects of marrying for all the various reasons we do.Mary Beth
P.S. Congrats on your review being published!! I can only imagine how excited you are!!! and if you want to share the review I would absolutely love to read it!!
Hi foggi just stopped by your profile to wish you a Happy New Year and may this new year be better in many ways than 2008...May your new year be filled with blessings and great things (like books) for you and your loved ones!!!
