Hi, there are many, many books on the politics of the Revolutionary War and off hand a specific one does not come to mind...but I'll ask some friends for suggestions. The Battles of Trenton are something I know about and have definite favorite books on; there are three for specific reasons. My personal favorite is The Day is Ours by Dwyer. It gives a good lead up and mixes a lot of primary source material within the narrative, so to me it is an absorbing read. The Battles of Trenton by Stryker is the "go to" source for most historians. Stryker was a child listening to the stories of old men telling their dad's stories...not too far removed from the men who actually lived the Battles. He had direct access to the New Jersey Pension records and those were his primary source materials. The recently released Washington's Crossing by Hackett-Fischer is a very good blending of the two and starts the story with a compelling description of how Washington had to build his army. To me, the most value to be had from HF's book is the appendices. These three books are available in paperback, though the Stryker book was a private printing by the Old Barracks Museum in 2001 and is only available, as far as I know, at the Barracks. Long answer to your question. Cate
