Grupper50 Book Challenge, Go Review That Book!, Librarians who LibraryThing, What Are You Reading Now?

YndlingsforfattereJane Austen, Ted Dekker, C. S. Lewis, Francine Rivers, J. R. R. Tolkien (Fælles favoritter)

Om mig I have always loved reading, and my taste is eclectic. I have a tendency to choose fantasy, but I'll also read cozy mysteries, some science fiction, some general fiction, manga, and classics (Jane Austen and the Bronte sisters are especial favorites). I read more young adult books than *real* adult books, but I'm branching out more and even reading more nonfiction this year as well.

I just finished getting my Master's in Library Science this May. I sometimes choose books for "librarian research" in genres I don't pick up on my own.

Om mit bibliotek Because I have a fairly limited budget, I buy books that I know I'll like. I bend that rule when I'm tag saling or buying from a used book sale because I can buy them cheap.

My library reflects my reading taste from when I was a little kid to a teen to an adult. This has resulted in an odd mix of books I haven't read in ages but can't get rid of because of previous attachment (Roses for Mama) and books I reread all the time (Fruits Basket).

When I rate books, a 4 star rating means I like it alright but it's not outstanding, 4.5 means I really enjoyed it but it's not without flaws, and 5 either means I was extremely satisfied or the book is definitely worth rereading.

The title of Steinbeck's OMAM comes from a poem by Scots poet Robert Burns, called "To A Mouse". The relevant line is "the best laid plans of mice and men gae oft agley."

My students and I read the poem first and discussed it, and then AFTER they finished the book they talked about why they thought Steinbeck chose the title of his book from this poem.

No question though, it's a tragic book.
I just posted on Game thread 2 for the group GO REVIEW THAT BOOK, and I've assigned you OF MICE AND MEN from your TBR tags. Happy reading! (I loved this book, and enjoy teaching it, so I'm looking forward to your review.
