Om mig I read, I garden, I build stained glass and cut hair. I love to travel, ride horses, enjoy fine dinning and renovating my 100 year old house.
I could go on...
Om mit bibliotek still adding books to LT, it seems to be such a slow process, half the time I forget the name or author by the time I make it back to the comp. can we say oldtimers boyz and girls? I love buying books, finding space is a bigger challenge. Getting hooked up with Abebooks really lets me justify more book buying.

And I even snagged an Early Reviewer copy of the latest Steve Berry, The Charlemagne Pursuit, which was very Rollins-esque.

Yep. Heading back home for my niece's wedding this summer. We try to get back to visit family once a year or so. That and to get some real Cajun food...8^}

Can't say I've read anything called Wicked that I can remember. What is it?

I just noticed that you put The Entity in your library, that brought back a few memories. I think I read it when it first came out "way back when" and it really creeped me out. Think I might have to have a look around for another copy myself.

I have a little room about 10' by 12' that serves as my library. I have a recliner in the middle and a small table loaded with books. There are six bookshelves around the walls a window and the door. I love to sit in there and read early in the morning or any time. Someone picked me for an interesting library and I went through my catalog. I realized I have a good number of books that I am interested in that I haven't read. That has slowed down my book buying a bit, only a bit. Good to hear that you are doing well. Non illigitimi carbrondum, (Don't let the bastards get you down). Best regards.

I have been doing some used book shopping myself lately. Next door to my office is a used book store with about 35,000 books. I have shopped there for years and the owner usually gives me a discount. I had some cash in my pocket and bought six books recently. I browse and find books I like, it's not like ABE where I can order a book I want. It still feels good to get a like new hardback for $8.00. I hope things are well in your corner of the world. Drop me a note and let me know the news and the gossip.

At ABE on the search results page at the top there is a drop down menu labeled"features" you can drop it down and select hardcovers and the only books that are shown will be hardbacks. I prefer them also and buying used they are not much more expensive than the paperbacks.
When I am looking at a book to buy and I have a question about whether I already own it I drop a new tab on my browser and go to my catalog. Then I can look up and see if I have the book. It is hard to keep track and more than one time I have bought a book I already owned.
I noticed in your catalog a couple of H. P. Lovecraft volumes. I have one volume of his stories I bought that is published by Library of America. It has 800 pages of his stories and a short biography in the back. You might want to give it a look. Have fun shopping and reading.

I just saw your comment and question about Perfume. I posted a comment on my challenge page but will put it here too:
Yes, although I never "liked" Grenouille (which translates as frog, by the way). I had sympathy for him as a child, but not when he started manipulating people and events. I loved the language, the time it evoked, and the story itself. Strange end.

Next door to my office is a used book store and they do a majority of their business through ABE. The owner told me that he would go out of business without the internet sales. So its a good deal for the buyer and the seller.
It does make it more difficult not to buy. I try to keep to a budget and always look at the unread books on my shelves to keep myself in line. Money spent on books is never wasted. I am glad to hear you found some books you wanted. Some folks look down on buying used books but the words are the same. Let me know how your purchases turn out.

Here’s wishing you a fantastic day filled with fabulous fates, fanciful festivities, and frolicking phantom footstools.
Happytimes,
Jeremy :)
PS--if you end up checking out my novel or any of my other work, I'd love to hear what you think.
