Om mig I am a photographer and filmmaker from Austin, TX. Feature films I have co-written include "The Larkshead Society" and "The Land of Shadowed Sand." My literary tastes tend towards genre, with hardboiled and science fiction stories capturing my attention the most. My favorite writers include Raymond Chandler, Philip K. Dick, and Neal Stephenson.

Om mit bibliotek My library contains somewhere around 2,500 books (roughly estimated by counting one shelf and multiplying). So, I'm not quite done cataloguing, yet.

On Grading:

1/5 Makes a good argument for book-burning.

2/5 Sub-par. I would have a hard time calling these "good," for whatever reason.

3/5 A good book, but the wax melts from its wings before it achieves greatness.

4/5 An excellent read and highly recommended.

5/5: One of my favorites. I've either read it several times or intend to do so.

Note: When applied to referance material, this scale reflects the accuracy and/or usefuless of the book's information, which can be a fairly subjective decision. Not that rating fiction isn't already.

Hey, Wylie! Thanks for stoppping by!
True. Interesting story (to me anyway): I got Sobel's book from a book-swap geocache - so I had to navigate to it in order to get it. Thought you might appreciate that. Oh, and look, it appears we share "Emma" as well.
Thanks! (And hey, I could have a lot of crap! My eagle eye for quality is legendary; on the other hand, I've only actually read a fraction of my books...)
Yep, I love Asimov's writing style, and most of his interests match my own. He was the first science fiction author I ever read. As a scientist I love seeing how he explains science to non-specialists. Even though most of the science in his books is pretty dated now, I still seek them out at used bookstores. I don't have even half of what he published, so there are still plenty of finds to be made. :)
Hey I understand, I get so much of it from my mother, I refuse to read anything set in TX or the west!
Thanks for your kind note, Wylie. Of course, "aficionado" is used loosely. The group is really for anyone who enjoys Donne and ways to talk about why he remains interesting for modern readers. Happy reading!
