Om mig I am a 33 year old woman living in the Northwest of England - and a total book anorak. I have been obsessed with reading pretty much all my life and it seems to get worse as I get older. I drive my poor fiancé mad as I fetch home more books from everywhere we go - and I'm currently badgering him to take me to Hay-on Wye.......:)

Om mit bibliotek This is very much a work in progress which will be added to as and when I get chance.

My main passion is history - especially the Tudor/ Elizabethan period (as you might have guessed!) - but I also read travel books, some fantasy, the odd who-done-it, in fact pretty much anything.

My library consists mostly of books that I own, with the rare addition of a text that I no longer have in my possession - or at least can't currently find. I am drowning in books with the final indignity being that my metal book shelves recently collapsed because they had too many volumes on them. Now books are piled everywhere and my house looks like a literary assault course. Never mind - a passion is always worth suffering for!

Hi
Your library is fascinating! Like you, I love to read about Elizabeth I, Henry VIII and that particular time period. Anne Boleyn is my favorite historical character. I hope to be able to travel to Englad in the next few years. I would love to visit Hever castle in Kent.
Merry Christmas with many happy and royal additons to your library this coming year.

Tudorrl,
I was very pleased to hear that you like my library. I will have to upgrade but I haven´t had time to work on my catalogue and will probably only get on to it again after Christmas. As I live in Portugal I like to go to the different Christmas fairs and look for older books. This year the Nordic fair gave you a plastic bag and said to fill it for 5 euros, so you can imagine I have a lot of books to both read and put in my library.
I too will keep my eye on your lovely collection.
Very best wishes,
Menarue
I was very pleased to hear from a fellow "Elizabethan" and book collector. My collection has been compiled mainly by luck as I live in Portugal and I have spent a lot of time in non-€nglish speaking Africa. Nowadays there is no problem with English books but a few years back it was very difficult and most of my books came from charity fairs held near Christmas. Last year at one of those fairs they gave you a plastic bag and you could fill for 5 euros - my only problem was getting the bags to my car.
I am reading a very interesting book at the moment "Spring Moon" by Bette Bao Lord and I am enjoying it very much. Shades of Pearl Buck and Nancy Waln. Of course I am reading two other books at the same time but one is a favourite that I haven´t read for years "That Great Lucifer" by Margaret Irwin, when I was cataloguing I remembered how much I enjoyed it. I am keeping an eye on your books, your library is very interesting full of books that I want to read.

I have been looking through your books and we have 9 in common but I am sure when I have finished cataloguing there will be more. I, also have a great interest in the Tudors. I see that you don´t have "Murder Most Royal" by Georgette Heyer listed (yet). I notice you have put lots of books in twice, I did that but when I got to my free limit I went through them again, I will have to upgrade, books everywhere and with librarything it makes me feel more organized.
Best wishes,
Menarue
I can understand why Hay-on-Wye would be too much to handle. I just went to a library's book fair this weekend and came back with almost twenty books! So I can just imagine how I would be at the Hay-on-Wye festival. Out of control, surely :-)

I really like your library, too! The TBR pile is being added to as I browse!
Ooh- have you ever been to Hay-on-Wye? I wanted to go there while I was studying in England, but it's hard to get to without a car :-) But I think that would be a dream, just walking around used bookstores all the time!
Thanks for joining the "Humor" group. Had a good time looking through your catalog.

Have a good one.
Thank you, I've enjoyed having a look at your library and you've given me some very good ideas of what to buy next!!!
