Om mig I'm the author of six science fiction novels for teens that are also enjoyed by many adults, all first published by Atheneum in the 1970s and reissued in new hardcover editions (plus paperback editions) by different publishers in the 21st century. In addition I have recently published an adult science fiction novel, Stewards of the Flame. If you're not a science fiction fan, don't let that put you off -- people who don't read other science fiction often tell me they like mine.
My Newbery Honor book Enchantress from the Stars is the only one that was not updated in its new edition. The Far Side of Evil and Journey Between Worlds both have had significant updating, and today's readers should not read the old editions of those two! (For more information, see my website, which also has detailed FAQs about all my novels.)
The trilogy Children of the Star consists of the three novels This Star Shall Abide (aka Heritage of the Star), Beyond the Tomorrow Mountains, and The Doors of the Universe, originally published separately but now available only in omnibus form since it's all one long story. Though it was written for readers of high school age, the new edition, published by Meisha Merlin in 2000, was issued as adult science fiction.
My main interest apart from writing books is the vital importance of space colonization, which I believe is vital to the long-term survival of humankind. I write about that at my website, and I also maintain the page Space Quotes to Ponder which contains over a hundred quotations from well-known people and a few other writers (mostly from books) about why expansion of our civilization into space is essential. In this connection, here's a new book everyone who cares about the future should read, whether or not you're a space enthusiast -- and so far I'm the only one here who owns it!
Om mit bibliotek I've finished entering the books I plan to catalog (besides these, there are a few -- mostly paperbacks -- that I won't be keeping much longer so won't list).
As I look at other people's catalogs, I see many books I once owned but decided I'd be unlikely to need again. As I'm now in my 70s I am gradually weeding my library, keeping only books I may someday really have time to read or reread, or may need to refer to, or may use for research in connection with future writing. All the UFO-related books and some of those on the paranormal come in the latter category -- for many years I have been collecting material for a nonfiction book on the mythology of the Space Age. Other topics I may write more about someday include the fallacies in our society's medical philosophy and the potential powers of the human mind.

My best friend in 5th and 6th grade shared Enchantress from the Stars with me when it first came out. She loved it so much she almost didn't want to share it with anyone, but I'm glad she did! I echo the praise and thanks from other readers. I'm getting chills remembering how excited I was as I figured out what was going on in the book.
There weren't very many books yet featuring young women in adventures -- we were thirsty for books like yours.
I can't wait to share your books with my daughter!
It is a delight to be able to let you know how much joy your work has brought me. I wish you all the best.
With many thanks.

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed "Enchantress from the Stars". It is one of the few science fiction novels my fairly conservative high school library stocked, and I've loved it ever since I discovered it at age 16. I buy all the copies I find at used book stores to give to reading friends, and have made many converts over the years. Thanks for such a great novel!

Thank you for telling me about Stewards of the Flame. I have added it to my list of books to get. I first read Enchantress the year it came out and you've been one of my favourite authors ever since, and I was delighted to see you here on LibraryThing.

I really enjoyed this book, read it twice as a matter of fact, your Mother had a talent to make Anne of Brittany come to life :)

How wonderful to see you here on Library Thing! This Star Shall Abide was one of my favorite books when I was growing up about 20 years ago, and it has a very special place in my heart to this day. When I first read it, it influenced my ideas about integrity, truth and human value very deeply. I've only recently discovered the rest of the trilogy, in the current omnibus printing, and am enjoying the further stories very much!
I'm sure you've been told this before, but your work has made a big, big difference, at least for one small person (and I'm sure many more as well). :) Thank you.
