Thanks for your note, DOCTOR Dedman. Congratulations on finishing the degree! I was in a Ph.D. program in science at one time and gave it up after several years, having realized perhaps it wasn't the right direction for me after all. But getting that degree is a great accomplishment.

I'll definitely be looking forward to your next novel, and glad to hear something is well on its way. I should read more short stories. Last time I tried reading some of the magazines I found there were too many stories I didn't like so I wasn't getting so much enjoyment for my money and I didn't keep up with it. I've started buying the occasional anthology from well-known editors. If you publish a collection of your stories at some point, I'll certainly buy and read it!

I hope you do enjoy Daughter of Hounds. I didn't read Murder of Angels, so I can't compare them. I'd be interested in hearing what you think, when you get to it.

Take care,
Jim
Hello Mr. Dedman,

How neat to see listed the library of one of my favorite writers! There were several authors for whom you have just about all their books. A fair number of shared reading interests between us. If you have time, read Caitlen Kiernan's 'Daughter of Hounds' - it's really great, better than Blood Red Moon by a fair shot and maybe better than Silk (I didn't read Silk). It was unique in my reading experience.

I have all your books - five novels, anyway. I was fascinated by Art of Arrow Cutting and really loved Foreign Bodies, but haven't had time to read the more recent books yet. But I will - I'm just saving them for the right time, I guess, but they're to look forward to. I sure hope there will be more coming in the future! Seems to me I saw you are working on a Ph.D. somewhere? Maybe it was someone else... but if I'm remembering right, good luck with that! I hope you can get back to writing fiction full time again sometime in the not-too-distant future.

I found you on LibraryThing because I seem to be the one other person who has a copy of Dirty Little Unicorn. It's so cute! I have to smile every time I think of it, actually. I'm not a fast reader, but that's one "book" short enough to get through in short order, and I was glad I took the time. You should get back to it again, spruce it up however you want, and see if somebody would publish it "for real" now that you have more of a name established for yourself. It's really very memorable.

Take care,
Jim Harrington
Oh, hi! I enjoyed The Art of AC, but now that I look, I guess I haven't listed it on LT.

- Bob
