Om mig I adore history, specializing these days in postal history thanks to work. And from that varieties of communication history. But I also keep my old loves of labor and technology history. When I have those few precious hours to read fiction, I swerve from more serious fare such as anything by Pynchon to detective fiction by women about women.
Om mit bibliotek Ok, so it is really weighed more toward aspects of my work, but I do manage to sneak in the fun reads and guilty pleasures that can make reading a surprising delight.

At the moment I am doing a search in US Air Mail history to determine if early on (1917 / 1918 ?) in the host of Curtiss Jenny and Standard biplanes a lone L-W-F Tractor Biplane was used. There are a few hints that one of these tractor biplanes was used for experiment.
It is stated that one exmaple was specially built by the L-W-F factory for evaluation by the Post office. (Internet - Aerofiles site)
On another site is it stated 'However; at one time or another, planes of the following types were used somewhat extensively: Curtiss JN_4_H, with Wright engine, 150 h.p.; Standard JR-1B, with Wright engine, 150 h.p.; Curtiss R-4-L, with Liberty-12 engine, 400 h.p.; Curtiss HA, with Liberty-12 engine; Twin D.H. with two Liberty-6 (Hall Scott) engines, 400 h.p.; Martin mail planes, with two Liberty-12 engines, 800 h.p.; Junker (JL-6) with B.M.W. engine, 200 h.p., and L.W.F. (type V) with Isotta Fraschini 250 h.p. engines.'
As this information is very sketchy, my question is (as you have such a fine collection of books about the subject). Is there any substantial data in your books referring to this elusive machine? May be even a picture ?
I intend to buy a few books about the subject myself, any suggestions where I should start ?
Cheers
