Om migI am someone who wishes that he could walk past the door to his bedroom and find what’s pictured. ;)

My ideal would be a library that was inviting, large and comfortable, and looked out through a few trees to an ocean vista. A fire would be burning on the back wall, and friends would come over and quietly browse the books, and read them. And when dinner was over, we would come back to the library, and sit and talk by the fire, and see the light change in the room as day turns to night.

Oh. And I want at least one book-case that turns around on a pivot, to reveal secret books on the other side of the shelf, and a hidden room behind.

I love LibraryThing, and I love The Green Dragon group. A big thanks to all the members of the GD who have made it a fantastic place to call my online home.

Om mit bibliotekMy library has two sides to it. On one side, there are the types of books that I will read all the time (science fiction, history, science.) Then, on the other sides, are the results of the biblio-addictions I’ve had over the years. The Sherlock Holmes books, the Tolkien analysis, the books on religion, are all examples of these one to three year phases of focused interest.

I did not know, or had forgotten about your Sherlock Holmes addiction. Does it apply to all things Holmes, or only Doyle's writings? I was wondering what you think of the new movie coming out with Robert Downey, Jr.? I'm going to give it a chance, I don't mind and edgier Sherlock because he was edgy for his times in my mind.

Thank you so much! I love "BallBoy," very clever. I ran into a glitch: I tried to put a linke to the chatroom on the group page with something that looks like a href.... and it told me I couldn't modify header info or something. Am I doing something wrong or is this a Tim question?

littlegeek told me about your kind offer to create a chatroom for Tennis, Anyone and, if it is not much work on your end, I would like to accept. We've been having fun in the GD chatroom during the Grand Slams and we can certainly continue as long as we need to, so I'd hate for you to spend anything but your free-est of free time on it. Just let me know what you need :-)

I'm okayish...as far as things go. Just in a withdrawing place I think - haven't even been reading much...or rather reading one long book very slowly! So, um, not much to say for myself heh. Things are tough, as they always are...which sounds depressing but is true. One bright spot - my husband was granted residency, so that's a huge weight from our minds! Now, he can look into his university degree for next year - which again we have to figure out how to manage our way through financially, but it's a great long-term plan, so we'll make it work.

How are you and your family? Hope things are okay and that you're enjoying summer (jealous..it's cold and yuck here).

Oh, and thanks *so* much for that chain game thing on facebook. Grr. :P

Oh sorry about your microwave mishap!! Mine was minor in comparison. . . . Thank you for mentioning "unplug" which I had not done. That lets me keep its door open. Irony: we got home late Saturday night and across the hall neighbor (who had given us the popping gadget) had left a bagful of popcorn for us. . . her ancient low current machine had popped it perfectly.
