When I run across a fellow Tar Heel, I always stop to speak. I envy your being in Chapel Hill; I was there when "Hector's - Famous Since 1969" was a huge joke. Anyway, enjoy!

Noticed you liked Clockwork Orange, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a group of violent kids (and also a bit dark). I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the book before you commit:

Hello, I am looking for a free copy of Marquis de Sade's Juliette as it is in the public domain and i have so far, found nothing. If you know where i can find a public domain work of this i would enjoy it and be ever so grateful.
Thank you and please respond
Yeah, it's good - definitely worth the effort. No treefucking, though.
I am surprised to see that Skipping Toward Gommorahhas been recently added. Surprised you haven't had it for years.
The last book you rated, great cover ;-)

Anyway, I adore your library. And you have things that most people do not have. I am surprised to see The Pearl in your collection. Very nice.
Thanks so much for your kind words about my work! They are much appreciated.
Thanks for the heads-up about those other Nexus novels. I enjoyed how "Forbidden Reading" used real-life references, like naming the manuscript she wanted, 'Lacoste' after the chateau. There are some other novels, as well, that, beyond referencing De Sade, feature him as a character: "When The Whip Comes Down" by Jeremy Reed, which depicts De Sade as a sort of vampire, still thriving in the modern day; and The Fan-Maker's Inquisition" by Rikki DuCornet. The latter of these is more of a mainstream than an erotica novel.

The "Marat/Sade" movie was cool. Although, I didn't find Patrick McGee's De Sade anywhere near as intriguing as Geoffrey Rush in "Quills". McGee just seemed rather dour and crabby. Rush's De Sade was just crackling with energy.
Enjoyed your 'Quills' review. That's my all-time favorite play. I loved the movie version, too. You have a great library - I've already seen a few things I'm now interested in going to purchase, mainly from under your 'S&M' tag. ;)

Have you read Peter Weiss' 'Marat / Sade'? It's another play that features a fictionalized version of De Sade, also when imprisioned in the Asylum of Charenton. I was lucky enough to see a live performance of that one, and liked it very much.
a smile. loved your whalebone review.
