This might be my favorite take on the three little pigs story. I love how creative Wiesner is with his illustrations, and my daughter loved that there was a nice dragon involved.

Highly, highly recommend.

This wordless book is a whimsical dream-like adventure that depicts flying frogs in all kinds of landscapes. This book was innovative, experimental, and adventurous all experienced through the beautiful illustrations that told the story.

Summary
This picture book is a twist on the classic fairy tale the Three Little Pigs. There is a change with how the pigs are able to get away from the big bad wolf and make their own story! While moving through the pages and jumping through different fairy tales the pigs are able to meet some friends along the way, to end happily ever after!

Review
I am so happy this book was recommended by my internship director. I was sharing with her about the weeks topic of learning about fairy tales and her first reaction was “you need to read The Three Pigs by Daivid Wiesner.” I am so glad she did! I love when a book is not a direct fairytale.

This book reminds me of The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka and Honestly, Red Riding Hood was rotten: the story of Little Red Riding Hood as told by the wolf by Trisha Shaskan. Both of these stories are a twist on the fairy tale written in a different perspective.
