The Mission of Ezekiel af Douglas Mangum
The prophet Ezekiel is known for his vivid descriptions of the supernatural, from the cherubim with four faces (Ezek 1) to the dry bones coming to life (Ezek 37) to the life-giving river flowing from the new temple (Ezek 47). He strains to put into words the strangeness that he has seen, resorting to similes approximating that what he saw was 'like' something his audience should be familiar with.
