A commentary from the 1930s espousing the historicist position. While the book does provide a good representative of said historicist position, such a position has lost significant favor over the intervening 75 years. The position is also suspect considering the stance of churches of Christ which generally recognize the difficulties of Protestant doctrine as equally as the difficulties of Catholic doctrine, while the historicist position values Protestantism over Catholicism, seeing the former as Babylon.

Other aspects of the commentary are quite elementary. Very little in terms of probing analysis or interpretation.

If you're interested in the historicist position, such is a good commentary. Otherwise, it is a relic.
