New American Standard Bible

I have been reading ther Bible in many versions for over 35 years. It is only right that I add this to my library list. I find the NASB to be the best for studying, the KJV when feeling romantic, and the Living Bible when desiring a leisure read. In my opinion, it is the best book by far. The diversity of stories and plots - action, adventure, murder and mayhem, mystery, suspense, the most romantic of romantic stories, happy endings, sad endings, thought-provoking, philosophy, comedy, poetry, etc. - makes every read a new experience. No other book even comes close; there is no other book like the Bible. The Bible seems to have had some influence, to one degree or another, in the non-religious fiction books I have read, particularly the sci-fi and fantasy genre. It's impact on my life is without equal. In any case, to omit reading the whole Bible, at least once, is to miss out on the most exhilarating read of a life-time.… (mere)
